Miglinide calcium is the third glycinide hypoglycemic drug after repaglinide and nateglinide. It was
developed by Japanese pharmaceutical company Kissei and approved by Japanese Ministry of Health
and Welfare on January 29, 2004. It was first marketed in Japan in May 2004 for the treatment of type 2
diabetes. It is a first-line treatment drug for early and mild and severe type II diabetes patients, and has
the reputation of "in vitro islet".
Clinical trials have shown that these drugs are superior to other hypoglycemic
agents so far in terms of efficacy and safety. They are a new type of "mealtime blood glucose regulator" that
can promote secretion by islet cells. They are suitable for type 2 diabetes patients who cannot
