Product and Application
MEA Manufacturing
TaiJi has two separate MEA manufacturing lines to meet unique customer requirements.
Manufacturing line 1 is based on pulsed spray technology which enables excellent control over the catalyst layer structure. This manufacturing line has an annual output of 1 million pieces and an annual output value of about USD$45 million.
Manufacturing line 2 utilizes both slot-die and microgravure coaters to achieve high volume production of up to 6 million pieces, with an annual output value of about $175 million US dollar.
In addition to TaiJi's standard MEA products, Taiji has the ability to customize MEAs specifically for different needs of customers, including for both liquid cooled and air cooled applications.
Test Center
• Two R&D centres are at Spruce and Taiji Carbon, wholly-owned subsidiaries of Taiji Power.
• A 1500m² world class fuel cell R&D platform has been built at with a range of advanced R&D equipment and testing facilities.
To match world-class standards, a fuel cell testing centre has been constructed to carry out testing and analysis of fuel cells, MEAs and related materials.
• There are fuel cell test rigs ranging from 100 watt to 100 kw and testing equipment such as SEM electron microscopes in the test centre.
• The R&D team has extensive experience in materials testing, and has the capability to evaluate fuel cells in line with international standards.

Corporate environment
Q1: What type of membrane electrode Assembly do you have?
A1: Taiji supplies CCM and MEAs for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled stacks. The exact design can be customized to meet customer requirements.
Q2: Is the component from local or imported?
A2: Taiji's most popular products utilize Chinese components, including catalysts developed and manufactured by Taiji, and membranes sourced from China's largest membrane supplier (also a core investor of Taiji). By offering a CCM that utilizes all Chinese components, Taiji is able to greatly reduce the cost of the MEA even at relatively low order volumes. CCM and MEAs produced from overseas components are also available if preferred.
Q3: What's the normal price?
A3: The price depends on many factors including order volume, overseas versus Chinese components, etc. Please contact the sales department with your specific request to receive a quote.
Q4: How is the performance?
A4: Taiji's CCM and MEAs achieve world-class performance on par with global leading suppliers. While the exact performance depends also on the stack design and operating conditions, power densities of 1.4 W/cm2 are typical.
Q5: What's the lead time of your product?
A5: The lead time depends on order volume and CCM/MEA component selection. Please contact Taiji's sales department with your specific request to receive the lead time.
Q6: Is the width customizable?
A6: Taiji's CCM is fully customizable up to 450 mm. When using Chinese components, the CCM width can be adjusted without the need to 'slit' from a standard mother roll, which greatly reduced manufacturing waste and thus helps to reduce cost.
