Die Forgings Description
Die forgings are metal parts manufactured through the die forging process. Die forging is a manufacturing process that heats a metal blank and then shapes and compresses the metal under high pressure to obtain the desired shape. Blank selection: Select appropriate metal blanks, which are usually heat treated to improve their plasticity.
Billet heating: Heating the billet to the appropriate forging temperature, usually above the recrystallization temperature of the metal, to improve its plasticity.
Putting into the mold: The heated blank is placed into the mold. The mold usually consists of two or more parts and can be an open mold or a closed mold.
Apply pressure: Apply high pressure to press the blank into the desired shape, usually using equipment such as a hydraulic press, forging press, or hammering machine.
Cooling and finishing: Cooling the forged part may then require finishing to meet dimensional and surface quality requirements.
