Honeysuckle is the dried flower bud or first-blooming flower of Lonicera japonica, a plant of the Caprifoliaceae family. It is rod-shaped, thick at the top and thin at the bottom, slightly curved, 2 to 3cm long, 3mm in diameter at the top and 1.5mm in the bottom. The surface is yellowish white or greenish white, densely covered with pubescence. The main active ingredients are chlorogenic acid and Luteolin. Chlorogenic acid widely exists in plants, with higher contents in honeysuckle and eucommia ulmoides.
