L-Proline (proline for short) is one of the twenty amino acids that the human body synthesizes protein. It is a colorless to white crystal or crystalline powder at room temperature. It has a slight odor and a slightly sweet taste. It is easily soluble in water and ethanol. It is insoluble in ether, butanol, but soluble in inorganic acid.
