This specification details the requirements for copper-silicon alloy plate, sheet, strip, and rolled bar for drawing, forming, stamping, bending, and general engineering applications, and for pressure vessel applications. The alloys involved are copper alloys UNS Nos. C65100, C65400, and C65500. The chemical composition for each copper alloy UNS No. designation is specified. The requirements for tensile property, Rockwell hardness and grain size are specified for all tempers of rolled, annealed, and hot-rolled materials. Requirements for the black, plain pickled, specially cleaned, and sand blasted finishes are provided.


MATERIALS

1. C65100, also known as Low-Silicon Bronze, is a copper alloy primarily composed of copper (Cu) and silicon (Si). With a silicon content of approximately 2%, it offers excellent resistance to corrosion and high temperatures. This material exhibits good electrical conductivity, moderate strength, and exceptional formability.
