Description

Description:

Sodium Hyaluronate Powder is a straight chain macromolecular mucopolysaccharide composed of repeat disaccharide units of glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine.

It's molecular weight is from several ten thousand to several million. It's aqueous solution has outstanding moisture keeping ability, high viscoelasticity and lubricity. Pure Hyaluronic Acid is widely used in cosmetics, health and beauty food.

Application

Cosmetics: Sodium hyaluronate is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizing and anti-aging agent. It is added to various skincare products, such as creams, serums, and masks, to help improve skin hydration and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Sodium hyaluronate is also used in hair care products to enhance hydration and elasticity.

Dermal Fillers: Sodium hyaluronate is used in injectable dermal fillers to help restore volume to areas of the face that have lost fat or collagen. Dermal fillers containing sodium hyaluronate are injected into the skin, where they add volume and smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. The effects of these fillers typically last several months to a year, depending on the product and the individual.

Ophthalmology: Sodium hyaluronate is used in ophthalmology as a viscoelastic agent during eye surgery. It helps to maintain the shape of the eye during surgery and also helps to protect the cornea from damage. Sodium hyaluronate is also used in some contact lens solutions to improve lens comfort and hydration.

Wound Healing: Sodium hyaluronate is used in wound healing as a dressing or spray. It helps to keep the wound moist and prevent the formation of scabs, which can impede recovery. Sodium hyaluronate is also believed to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to reduce pain and swelling associated with wounds.

Joint Injections: Sodium hyaluronate is used in injections to treat joint disorders like osteoarthritis. Injections of sodium hyaluronate into the joint can help to lubricate the joint, reduce inflammation, and improve mobility.

Drug Delivery: Sodium hyaluronate is being investigated as a drug delivery vehicle for various drugs, including chemotherapy. The large size of the sodium hyaluronate molecule makes it ideal for encapsulating drugs and delivering them to specific tissues or cells. Sodium hyaluronate can also help prolong drug release, making them more effective.

Function

Sodium hyaluronate has various functions, from moisturizing and lubricating tissues to reducing inflammation and promoting tissue regeneration. Its unique properties make it a valuable ingredient in many products and treatments.

Hydration: One of the main functions of sodium hyaluronate is to hydrate the skin or other tissues. Sodium hyaluronate can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, making it an excellent moisturizer. When applied to the skin or injected into tissues, sodium hyaluronate helps to restore moisture and improve skin or tissue hydration.

Lubrication: Sodium hyaluronate also has lubricating properties, particularly in joints. It helps to reduce friction between joint surfaces and improve joint mobility. This makes it beneficial in joint injections for conditions such as osteoarthritis.

Anti-inflammatory: Sodium hyaluronate has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to reduce pain and swelling. It is thought to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and enzymes, reducing inflammation.

Tissue Regeneration: Sodium hyaluronate has been found to stimulate tissue regeneration in various tissues, including skin and bone. It can help to promote the growth of new cells and tissues, leading to faster healing and tissue repair.

Anti-aging: Sodium hyaluronate is a popular ingredient in anti-aging skincare products due to its ability to improve hydration and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It helps plump the skin and improve skin elasticity, leading to a more youthful appearance.

Cosmetic grade: Sodium hyaluronate is a popular ingredient in cosmetics and personal care products due to its moisturizing and anti-aging properties. As mentioned in my previous answer, cosmetic-grade sodium hyaluronate should meet certain specifications regarding its molecular weight, purity, and degree of cross-linking.
