Desulfurization is a chemical process for the removal of sulfur from a material. This involves either the removal of sulfur from a molecule (e.g. A=S → A:) or the removal of sulfur compounds from a mixture such as biogas, methane and oil refinery streams. These processes are of great industrial and environmental importance as they provide the bulk of sulfur used in industry, sulfur-free compounds that could otherwise not be used in a great number of catalytic processes, and also reduce the release of harmful sulfur compounds into the environment, particularly sulfur dioxide (SO2) which leads to acid rain, and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) which leads to poison, even death.
Working Principle The basic principle of dry desulfurization is a method of oxidizing H2S to elemental sulfur or sulfur oxides by oxygen. The other method is the special iron oxide absorption method (MT series special iron oxide desulfurizer), that is, the active ferric oxide in special iron oxide desulfurizer is used to absorb hydrogen sulfide in the gas and convert it into ferric sulphide, thus removing hydrogen sulfide (at present, this method is mostly used). The composition of the dry process equipment is that a filler is filled in a tank, and the filler layer can be iron oxide desulfurizer, activated carbon desulfurizer, etc. It is better to use iron oxide desulfurizer, so the sulfur content of desulfurizer is large and the cost is low. At a low velocity, the gas passes through the packing layer of the tank from one end, and the hydrogen sulfide is oxidized to sulfur or sulphur oxide or converted to iron sulfide. The gas is left in the packing layer and the gas is discharged from the other end of the container.
According to the amount of hydrogen sulfide imported by the user, the amount of gas treated per hour and the cycle required by the user, the tailored desulfurization tank (or desulfurization tower), gas water separator, flame arrester, blower, pressure stabilizer, desulphurizer, water seal, pressure meter, flow meter and matching pipe valve can be designed.
