HENGDA-M8133  is a bifunctional organosilane possessing a reactive primary amine and hydrolyzable inorganic methoxysilyl groups.
The dual nature of its reactivity allows HENGDA-M8133 to bind chemically to both inorganic materials (e.g. glass, metals fillers) and organic polymers (e.g. thermosets, thermoplastics and elastomers), thus functioning as an adhesion promoter and a surface modifier. HENGDA-M8133 is a clear, colorless liquid having an amine-like odor which is soluble in alcohols and aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.

Applications:


1. It can improve the physical and electrical properties of mineral-filled phenolics, epoxies, polyamides, polybutylene terephthalate, and many other thermoset and thermoplastic composites. Filler wetting and dispersibility in the polymer matrix can also be improved.
2. In shell molding, this silane can strengthen the bond between the phenolic binder and foundry sand.
3. As a phenolic resin binder additive, the HENGDA-M8133 silane coupling agent can impart moisture resistance and allow recovery after compression.
4. HENGDA-M8133 is an excellent adhesion promoter to consider for use in many coating, adhesive, and sealant systems. With polysulfide, urethane, RTV silicones, epoxy, nitrile, and phenolic adhesives and sealants, the product can improve pigment dispersion and adhesion to glass, aluminum, steel, and various other substrates.

Reactivity:

1. In the presence of water, the methoxy groups of HENGDA-M8133 hydrolyzes form reactive silanol groups which can bond to a variety of inorganic substrates. The organophilic amino group of HENGDA-M8133 can react with a suitable polymer. Hydrolysis of HENGDA-M8133 takes place autocatalytically. The pH of the hydrolysate is about 10-11.
2. Examples of suitable inorganic substrates are glass, glass fibers, glass wool, mineral wool, silicic acid, quartz, sand, cristobalite, wollastonite and mica as well as aluminum hydroxide, kaolin, talc, other silicate fillers, metal oxides and metals.
3. HENGDA-M8133 may be used with such polymers as epoxy, phenolic, furan and melamine resins, polyurethanes, PA, PBT, PC, EVA, modified PP, PVB, PVAC, PVC, acrylics and silicones.
4. HENGDA-M8133 can undergo reactions with ketone or ester solvents. The silanes or silanized substrates can react with carbon dioxide to form the corresponding carbonates or carbamates, respectively. Product modifications are possible through addition reactions with suitable monomeric or polymeric compounds(for example isocyanates, and epoxides).

Storage and shelf life:

1. HENGDA-M8133 is supplied in 25 kg,200 kg drums and 1000kg IBC containers.
2. The containers must remain tightly sealed during storage and kept in a cool, well aired place. The product should be protected against humidity.
I3. In the unopened container HENGDA-M8133 has a shelf life of min.12 months from delivery.
