Sodium dithionite Cas No: 7775-14-6

White crystalline powder with odor of sulfur dioxide. The relative density is about 1.3. Soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol. Unstable, easy to decompose by oxidation. Moisture, heat, or exposure to air can accelerate its decomposition and even combustion, producing sulfur dioxide and a lot of heat when it decomposes. Moisture or exposure to air will lose potency and may burn. Heating to 75 ~ 80ºC above decomposition, to 190ºC will explode.

Usage:

usage: Widely used in textile industry for vat dyeing, reduction cleaning, printing and stripping
1.It is mainly used as a bleaching agent for printing and dyeing reducing agent, pulp, linen, oil, etc., and for pharmaceutical and analytical reagents
2. Used in analysis as an oxygen absorber, and also as a dye intermediate and bleach agent
3. Low sodium sulfite has a stronger reducing property than general sulfite, and the reducing and bleaching properties are strongest in sulfite bleach. It can be used for candied fruit, glucose, sugar, rock sugar, cerealose, candy, liquid glucose, dried fruit, dried vegetables, vermicella, bamboo shoots, mushrooms and canned mushrooms, with a maximum usage of 0.40g/kg. Residual amount of potato starch (SO2)≤0.05g/kg.
