Fig extract is the polygamous fruit of Ficus carica L., family Moraceae, which has the ability to moisten the lungs and relieve cough, clear heat and laxative. It is deciduous shrub or tree, up to 12m,with latex. The leaves are alternate, thickly membranous, broadly ovate or subglobose, with undulate teeth on the margin, rough above and short hairs below. Polygamous fruit pear-shaped, black-purple when ripe; achenes ovoid, light brownish yellow.
It is used for coughing and asthma, sore throat, constipation, hemorrhoids and other effects. It has very good small Guo for sore
throat, dry cough and hoarseness, scanty milk, intestinal heat and constipation, loss of appetite, indigestion, diarrhea, dysentery, bloating, ringworm.
