Introduction
Lutein and zeaxanthin are the main components of plant pigments such as corn, vegetables, fruits and flowers, and also the main pigments in the macular region of the human retina. Human eyes contain high amounts of lutein and zeaxanthin, but these two elements cannot be produced by human body, and must be supplemented by foods containing lutein and zeaxanthin. If these two elements are lacking, eyes will lose sight.
Main functions
1. It plays a great role in maintaining normal vision and preventing eye diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration ,ARMD.cataracts.etc.

2. Adequate intake of carotenoids can also reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer and heart disease.

3. It has antioxidant properties. Antioxidants can prevent cells from damage caused by free radicals.

4. Lutein can significantly reduce the damage to human body caused by blue light reaching sensitive parts of the eyes.
