Hastelloy B-2 physical properties
Hastelloy B-2 density
• Density ρ=9.2g/cm3
• HastelloyB-2 melting temperature range
• Melting temperature range 1330~1380°C
• Hastelloy B-2 welding
• The Hastelloy B-2 can be welded with tungsten electrode shielded gas (GTAW/TIG) or gas shielded arc welding (SMAW/MMA) in certain environments.
• The material to be welded should be annealed, remove oxide scale, oil and various marking marks, and the area of the base metal on both sides of the weld about 25mm wide must be polished to a bright metal.
• Hastelloy B-2 has a lower thermal conductivity than steel, and when using a single V-weld interface, the angle should be 70°, with a low heat input, and the interlayer temperature should not exceed 120°C.
• The oxidation color can be brushed off when the weld is still hot.
• Post-weld heat treatment is required in some applications to eliminate residual stress and improve stress corrosion cracking resistance.
• In order to obtain good corrosion resistance, it is recommended to use argon arc welding, that is, tungsten electrode inert gas shielded welding GTAW.
