Company Profile

The origin of CPM can be traced back to California's Napa Valley, where, in 1883, the Toulouse & Delorieux Co. Manufactured presses, crushers and stemmers for winemakers. In 1931, the company created the first pellet mill, the 30 HP Flat Bed with stationary flat die, and we became California Pellet Mill (CPM).

In the years that followed, we created more pellet mill models with additional features. In the 1980s, we greatly expanded our product offerings through the creation of Roskamp Champion with the acquisition of the Roskamp Roller Mill Company and Champion Hammermills.

Wolverine Proctor, part of the CPM Group in the United States, founded in 1812, the company has a history of more than 200 years, starting from the production of textile machinery, after more than two centuries of industry accumulation, now has been the leader in the field of drying.

(SCF) SINGLE CONVEYOR DRYER/COOLER

The (SCF) Single Conveyor Dryer/Cooler offered by CPM Wolverine Proctor is the most widely used continuous dryer in the world, and for a good reason. It's the result of years of production experience, bringing together carefully selected fans, heating systems, conveyors, chain panels, and other equipment to meet your production needs. Whether it is a two-foot-wide (0.6m) unit drying an expensive pharmaceutical product or a 14-foot, 6-inch-wide (4.4m) machine producing product at a rate of 100,000 pounds per shift, you can rely on CPM Wolverine Proctor's (SCF) Single Conveyor Dryer/Cooler for maximum efficiency at each point of your heating and drying process.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Maximum Uniformity: Multi-zone temperature control, adjustable airflow volumes and humidity control provides the highest thermal efficiency and gentle drying conditions, preventing product degradation

Uniformity: Airflow and temperature profiling results in unequalled final product uniformity

Flexible: The decision to use up or down airflow (or both), product cooling, conveyor design and selection of heating systems is based on product and process needs

Versatility: Choice of heating systems includes steam, direct or indirect natural or LP gas, electric, thermal oil, and geothermal water

Control: Temperature control systems range from simple on-off indicating controls to the most sophisticated menu-driven PLC instruments controlling the dryer and other units in the line

Efficient: Self-supporting, segmented, positively driven conveyors are supplied with perforations designed to minimize sifting and increase time between cleanings

Minimal Loss: Integral guards positively contain the product, minimizing loss while maintaining proper airflow through the product

Maintainability: The conveyor returns outside the drying chamber for ease of cleaning. Integral coolers, if required, stop the drying or roasting process very quickly and discharge products at close to ambient temperatures

Fast Installation Time: Preassembly in Wolverine Proctor's workshops assures ease of field assembly and minimizes installation time

Low Cost: Lower-cost minimal pre-assembly shipments can also be supplied to reduce costs for individual country and shipping requirements

LOOP DRYER

CPM Wolverine Proctor equipment is built with our customers in mind, and that's especially true for the Loop Dryer. Mechanical designs and features have been engineered into the CPM Wolverine Proctor Loop Dryer based on a long history of manufacturing machinery for the fiber industry, where knowledge of process requirements has been gained through established relationships with end users and mill workers.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Maximum Capacity With Minimum Energy Consumption: Uniform air distribution giving uniform drying and achieving maximum capacity with low energy consumption

Complete Drying Uniformity: Through the use of a unique concept of air movement, the Wolverine Proctor Loop Dryer provides optimum drying uniformity.

Flexibility: Flexibility has been engineered into this machine to enable you to run a wide range of fabrics in single or multiple strands. The standard design is available in a range of widths and lengths to suit your individual process requirements, whether large or small.

Low Maintenance: Low maintenance costs are found wherever the Wolverine Proctor machine is being used. With the number of installations increasing rapidly, processors are quick to realize the advantages of a Wolverine Proctor Loop Dryer.

Lower Installed Cost: Satisfied customers have been quick to see the ease with which the Wolverine Proctor Loop Dryer is installed; subsequently providing a lower installed cost.

Reduced Cleaning Time: Large, well-located doors in the housing give immediate access to the heaters and fans for ease of cleaning and maintenance.

Panel Construction: Wolverine Proctor's tube and panel construction used throughout the machine results in numerous advantages.

Aesthetic: The enclosure is smooth and sleek, simplifying housekeeping plus giving a trim, neat appearance to the entire machine.

Effective: The drying chamber is completely separated from the heating equipment. There is no possibility of the fabric being damaged by touching the heaters.

Accessible: Removable latch-and-hinge side door panels permit positive closure or can be easily removed if necessary.

SUCTION DRUM DRYER

Wolverine Proctor Drum Dryers are designed to provide fast, uniform drying. The fan draws air from the interior of the drum, producing suction on the surface of the area in contact with the material. This suction holds the material to the surface of the drum, permitting air to pass through the material being dried. A portion of the drum at the transfer has no suction and permits the material to transfer to the next drum without interference.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Configurable: Staggered or inline designs with microprocessor controls available

Gentle: Gentle treatment of material

Efficient: High throughput, short drying times and uniform final moistures

Accessible: Greater ease of accessibility for cleaning and maintenance

Expandable: Modular design for ease of installation and future expansion, with self-threading in certain applications

Robust: Standard drum is made of stainless steel; special drum coverings can be provided where required

Efficient: All fan and drum bearings are externally mounted outside the heated air stream

Continuous or batch: Some materials can be fed to the Inline Drum Dryer continuously or in batch due to the self-threading feature

Options: A variety of overfeed arrangements may be furnished in either design

Automated: After drying and/or heatsetting, materials are folded, batched, or transferred to the remaining process

Variable: Individual and variable speed control of drums can be supplied to cater for product shrinkage

MULTI-STAGE CONVEYOR DRYER/COOLER

The Multi-Stage Conveyor is designed to assure the most uniformly dried products in minimum floor space. Engineered for efficiency, this machine brings together separate independent conveyors with gentle product turnover at transfer points-ideal for varying loads. The Multi-Stage Conveyor also combines multiple airflow direction changes with multiple temperature and humidity control zones to effectively dry previously hard-to-dry products.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Uniformity: Multiple airflow direction changes enable the optimized drying characteristics required to achieve complete product uniformity and quality

Control: A highly efficient air circulation system to recirculate heated air up or down through the product on the band. Controlled amount of moist air is extracted to remove evaporative water at the optimum rate

Cost-effective: Turbine-type fans specially designed for minimal power consumption, complete with variable speed drives controlled from PLC

Minimal Heat Loss: Highly efficient insulation throughout the drying chamber to minimize heat loss and maximize efficiency

Recovery: Heat recovery systems can be supplied to re-utilize exhaust heat and either return it to the dryer or provide heat energy for other process equipment

Zoning: Independent multi-zone temperature controls to enable an optimized drying profile for each product. This prevents overheating and case hardening of the product and therefore helps to maintain product quality

Thorough: Transfer zones carefully engineered and positioned to suit the product(s) being dried, designed to minimize sticking, agglomeration, and product breakage
