Description
Hu Zhang is the dried rhizome and root of Polygonum cuspidatum. It is dug in
spring and autumn. People remove fibrous roots, wash and cut it into short sections
or thick slices while fresh, and dry in the sun.
It can be used for treating jaundice due to damp-heat, stranguria, leukorrhagia,
rheumatic arthralgia, carbuncle, sore, scald, amenorrhea, abdominal mass, traumatic
injury, and cough due to lung heat.
