Tauroursodeoxycholate is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress inhibitor. Tauroursodeoxycholate significantly reduces expression of apoptosis molecules, such as caspase-3 and caspase-12. Tauroursodeoxycholate also inhibits ERK.
Tauroursodeoxycholic acid is an effective component of bear bile and has obvious curative effect on gallstones and liver disease
It is mainly used in the treatment of cholecystolithiasis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, primary biliary cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis C
