Brief Introduction
Di Yu, the name of traditional Chinese medicine, is dried root of Sanguisorba
officinalis L. in rosaceous plant or Sanguisorba officinalis L. Var. Longifolia (Bert.)
Yu etLi. The latter is commonly known as "Mian Di Yu". When it will germinate in
the spring or after the plant has withered in the autum, it will be picked, removed fi-
brous roots, washed and dried. And it can be sliced while fresh and dried as well. It
is cold in nature, slightly bitter in taste and non-toxic.
It can be use for treating hematochezia, hemorrhoid, dysentery, metrorrhagia,
scald, sore and carbuncle.
