Product Cooling Agent WS-23 Detailed Description
The traditional coolants like menthol, peppermint oil and eucalyptus oil have the advantages of
fast eruption and strong stimulation of cool feeling. But meanwhile they have the disadvantages
of very strong characteristic smell, which is easy to volatilize at high temperature and contains
bitter taste at high dosages.
Now our cooling agent ws-23 can satisfy customer's demands, it have strong cool feeling,
non-peppermint, characteristic smell and no high volatility. Product Cooling Agent WS-23 Applications&Usage
1. Applications: mainly used in medicine, oral care (products), chocolate, dairy products, jelly, jam, candy, bread, starch food, beverages, beer and alcoholic beverages/drinks, chewing gum, mouthwash, toothpaste, shaving cream, soap, wet towel, facial mask, etc. Can be used to make products with different fragrance types in order to meet the new market concept, a good opportunity and choice for companies engaging in food, daily and chemical& pharmaceutical products. 2. Usage: It can be dissolved in alcohol, propylene glycol or other solvents first, then added into aqueous solution; Or first dissolved in the essence/flavour, then added into the product.
Reference Dosage: 30mg ~ 100mg / kg.

FYI: The density of PG is not considered, but the error is very small; density of PG is about 1.0381 g/cm³.
Product Characteristics 1. The long-lasting (cool feeling) cooling agent with a strong sense of coolness, can slow-release and prolong the sense of coolness. The cooling effect is significant and long-lasting, always 15-30 minutes;
2. The continuous high temperature of 200 ºC will not affect the cooling strength of the product, which is convenient for high-temperature treatment such as baking in process production;
3. Low dosage; for 1kg finished product, always only needs 30mg ~ 100mg ws-23 to achieve the cooling effect.
4. Easy water solubility, solubility up to 0.7%;
5. No odor of the product. It is pleasant, long-lasting, fresh, no spicy and stimulating feeling. It can be blended with other flavors without affecting its aroma and cooling effect.

WS-23 is not derived from menthol. It is synthetic, and the core ingredients is yellow phosphoric acid. It exhibits little or no odor and taste, and has a low volatility. Sensory evaluations of WS-23 indicate that the product cools more. WS-23 is the most popular coolant across thewhole market home and abroad. It is the best selling item of all types cooling agents now.Cooling Agent WS-3 WS-3 is a menthol derivative.
But unlike menthol, WS-3 is virtually nonvolatile, odorless and tasteless.WS-3 is one of the most used cooling agents in the market and it's well known for its clean immediate cooling impact and has been found to cool primarily at the roof of the mouth, the back of the mouth and the back of the tongue.Cooling Agent WS-5WS-5 is a menthol derivative that was developed in the 1970s by Wilkinson Sword, but was not commercialized due to a bitter aftertaste associated with the product. However, we have developed a patented process to offer substantially pure WS-5 that does not possess the bitter aftertaste present in previous forms of the product.
WS-5 has been found to have approximately two and one-half times the cooling intensity of WS-3, it is one of the strongest commercially available coolants, yet exhibits a smooth and round flavor profile.WS-5 has been found to cool primarily at the roof of the mouth and the back of the tongue.Cooling Agent WS-12WS-12 is a menthol derivative. But unlike menthol, WS-12 is virtually nonvolatile, odorless and tasteless. WS-12 offers one of the strongest initial cooling impacts and a significantly longer lasting effect comparing with such conventional coolants such as WS-3, WS-5, and WS-23.
It has potential for use in mint flavors in oral care applications as well as confectionery and chewing gum depending on dosage levels. In addition it can be used at low levels to impart freshness into berry, citrus and other fruit flavors in a variety of applications. WS-12 has been found to cool primarily at the front of the tongue.
