1. Characteristics
a. LCP has self reinforcement: it has the characteristics of abnormal regular fibrous structure, so the unreinforced liquid crystal plastic can reach or even exceed the level of mechanical strength and modulus of ordinary engineering plastics reinforced with dozens of glass fibers. If reinforced with glass fiber, carbon fiber, etc., it is far more than other engineering plastics.
b. Liquid crystal polymers also have excellent thermal stability, heat resistance and chemical resistance. For the creep characteristics of most plastics, liquid crystal materials can be ignored, and their wear resistance and wear reduction are excellent.
c. LCP has good weather resistance and radiation resistance, excellent flame retardancy, and can extinguish the flame without continuing to burn. Its combustion level reaches UL94V-0 level.
d. LCP has excellent electrical insulation performance. Its dielectric strength is higher than that of general engineering plastics, and its arc resistance is good. Its electrical performance will not be affected at the continuous service temperature of 200-300 ºC. The intermittent use temperature can reach about 316 ºC.
e. LCP has outstanding corrosion resistance. LCP products will not be eroded in the presence of 90% acid and 50% alkali. For industrial solvents, fuel oils, detergents and hot water, they will not be dissolved after contact and will not cause stress cracking.
