Polyethylene terephthalate is the main variety of thermoplastic polyester, commonly known as polyester resin. It is prepared by transesterification of dimethyl terephthalate and ethylene glycol or esterification of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol to synthesize dihydroxyethyl terephthalate, and then polycondensation. Together with PBT, it is collectively referred to as thermoplastic polyester, or saturated polyester. Specification

Application
Glass fiber reinforced PET is used in the electrical and electronic and automotive industries for various coil frames, transformers, TV sets, recorder parts and casings, automotive lamp holders, lampshades, white-hot lamp holders, relays, selenium rectifier, etc. The current consumption proportion of PET engineering plastics in several application fields is: electrical and electronics 26%, automotive 22%, machinery 19%, appliances 10%, consumer goods 10%, other 13%. At present, the total consumption of PET engineering plastics is not large, accounting for only 1.6% of the total PET.
