Yunnan walnut has the highest percentage of light color kernels (≥90%) and fat content. Yunnan walnut shells are round and rough with small freckles. It is the best variety to sell kernels, because of its 90% light color kenels. And the highest content of fat makes it tastier.

Shells average 1.7-2.2mm.
