A790 S31803/32205 ASTM Pipe Ferritic-Austenitic Stainless Product Description
Duplex steel is not entirely austenitic nor completely ferritic. This grade is often referred to as the workhorse grade. The main advantage of this steel type is that it combines austenitic steel and ferritic steel properties to give excellent outcomes. We manage our products under high levels of production standards and quality control measures. Duplex stainless 2205 (UNS S32205) is chromium-nickel-molybdenum-nitrogen stainless steel. UNS S32205 has high strength and corrosion resistance at temperatures up to 316°C. UNS S32205 is a duplex grade with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure. The alloy consists of around 40-50% ferrite in the annealed condition.
