Hydroponic(Soilless cultivation) is a new technique of crop cultivation developed in recent decades.It does not use natural soil,but uses nutrient solution containing elements necessary for plant growth and development to provide nutrition,and can enable plants to complete the whole life cycle normally.Crops are grown not in soil,but in aqueous solutions(nutrient solutions) of dissolved minerals,or in certain substrates,in nutrient solutions.
As long as there are certain cultivation equipment and have certain management measures,the crops will grow normally,and gain high yield.Because it do not use natural soil,but use nutrient solution to cultivate crops,therefore,it is called soilless cultivation.Soilless cultivation is characterized by replacing the soil environment with artificially created crop root growth environment.It can not only meet the needs of crops for nutrients,water,air and other conditions,and technicist also controlled and adjusted these conditions and demands,to promote the crop growth better.
From this point of view,soilless cultivation(hydroponic) of crops usually grow well,high yield,good quality.
