The measurement of smoke density is an important aspect of evaluating the combustion characteristics of cables or optical cables, which is related to the evacuation of personnel and the determination of whether to approach and extinguish fires. This instrument is mainly used to measure the smoke concentration released by cables and optical cables during combustion under specific conditions, and to verify the smoke density generated. Under flame or flameless combustion conditions, transmittance is used as a judgment method to compare different cables or optical cables under specific conditions.

Features

This instrument involves professional knowledge in mechanical, optical, and electronic fields. It is an electromechanical integrated product with advantages such as reasonable structure, stable performance, and easy operation; Windows XP operating interface, LabVIEW style, and comprehensive security mechanism. During the testing period, real-time display of measurement results and dynamic drawing of perfect curves (displaying transmittance vs. time curves) can be performed. The data can be permanently saved, accessed, and printed out, and reports can be directly printed.

Measurement software: It operates on the Windows XP+VB6.0 operating interface and can test the main data such as smoke optical density, specific optical density, smoke generation rate, maximum smoke generation rate, average smoke density, etc. It also has operation interfaces such as calibration, editing, testing, and parameter adjustment. The program adopts computer automatic control, collection, recording, and result settlement.
Principle

 

The smoke density optical measurement system for burning cables or optical cables under specific conditions consists of a light source, a silicon photocell, a light source receiver, and a computer system. The light generated by the light source passes through 3m × 3m × A 3m smoke density laboratory forms a uniform beam with a diameter of 1.5m ± 0.1m on the wall opposite the light source, and a photocell installed at the center of the beam detects the beam intensity from the light source. When a large amount of smoke is generated in the combustion chamber due to the burning of cables or optical cables, the smoke absorbs a part of the photoelectricity, and the beam intensity of the silicon photocell is weakened. By processing the data through a computer system, the linear response transmittance It can be calculated relative to the initial 100%.
There are two ways for customers to choose from in the design of the combustion chamber: the first is to use brick masonry walls, and our company has provided a design plan and sent professional engineers to provide on-site construction guidance; The second type is fixed on an angle iron bracket with suitable materials to form the entire cubic combustion chamber.
Composition

The entire instrument consists of a sealed test chamber, a photometer measurement system, an alcohol tray, a combustion system, an igniter, a test box, a cable support, a temperature measuring instrument, and smoke density testing software; The circuit is developed using a microcontroller, with high technical content and stable performance. This instrument is suitable for all cables and is widely used by production factories and research and testing units in the wire and cable industry. The test chamber is a test cube with a volume of 27m3.
