DIPSO Chemical Properties

The chemical name of DIPSO is 3- [N, N-bis (hydroxyethyl) amino] -2-hydroxypropane sulfonic acid, the Molecular formula is C7H17NO6S, the molecular weight is 121.135 g/mol, it is a white crystal powder, soluble in water, the pH range is between 7.4-7.8, and because it is a sulfonic acid buffer, it has a unique structure and special buffer performance.

DIPSO buffering characteristics

DIPSO is a Zwitterion buffer, which has good buffer capacity under physiological conditions (pH 7.4-7.8). Compared with other commonly used buffers, such as Tris and HEPES, DIPSO has more stable buffer performance under alkaline conditions, which can effectively maintain the pH value of the solution and prevent the impact of acid base value fluctuations on biological molecules.
