Monoammonium Phosphate fertilizer (MAP) is a phosphate based fertilizer used for the growing of various types of crops.
Monoammonium Phosphate fertilizer has a 60% content of phosphorus and 12% nitrogen content. The high phosphorus content of Monoammonium Phosphate fertilizer makes it suitable for use as basal fertilizer for crops.
Monoammonium Phosphate fertilizer is highly soluble. It can be used to supply nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients to plants. It is usually used in the early stage of planting because it enhances the growth of the roots of plants.
MAP can also be used to induce and enhance the production of flowers in plant. The high solubility rate of Monoammonium Phosphate fertilizer makes it useful in fertigation.
MAP fertilizer is acidic and comes in granules. After dissolution of Map fertilizer, it releases ammonium and phosphate to the plants; this ensures the healthy growth of the plant.
