Methanol, also known as "xylol", is an organic compound and the most simple saturated monohydric alcohol. The appearance is colorless, transparent and volatile liquid. There is a slight smell of alcohol. It is miscible with water, ethanol, ether, benzene, ketone, halohydrocarbon and many other organic solvents. It is usually used as solvent, anti frost agent, fuel or neutralizer.

It can be used as a new type of clean fuel after deep processing, usually also added to gasoline in combination.
