Pear cactus is the most common edible cactus variety. China introduced pear cactus (mibangta variety) from mibang area of Mexico since 1997 and popularized it in the whole country. It is cultivated in Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian,Zhejiang and other provinces in China. In the southwest of Sichuan, the north and east of Yunnan, the west of Guangxi, the southwest of Guizhou and the southeast of Tibet, ganrehe Valley at an altitude of 600-2900 meters is wild. Different from our common cactus, its stem is thick and fat, without thorn seat, and its taste is sour, sweet and crisp.
