Refrigerant r125 called Pentafluoroethane is an organic compound with the structural formula CF3CHF2. It is a colorless, non-flammable gas. Relative density (water=1) is 1.245, relative vapor density (air=1) is 4.2. Saturated vapor pressure is 1244 kPa (21.1ºC). Slightly soluble in water, hydrocarbons. Stable under normal conditions, decomposed by high temperature, releasing toxic gases (hydrogen fluoride and carbon tetrafluoride). Avoid contact with alkali metals and metals such as silver and copper when stored. Mainly used as refrigerant; commonly used as blower and propellant; used as oxide etchant in semiconductor production process; used as fire extinguishing agent; used as substitute for blowing agent
