The chemical structural formula of taurine is

β-aminoethanesulfonic acid or 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, the relative molecular mass is 125.15, the monoclinic prismatic rod-shaped white crystal, the melting point is 305.11 ºC, Non-toxic, odorless, slightly sour taste, stable to heat. Taurine is soluble in water, with a solubility of 0.5% at 12 ºC, its aqueous solution pH is 4.1~5.6, and its solubility in 95% ethanol at 17 ºC is 0.004%.
