1. Used in the production of paper and cellulose pulp.

Sodium hydroxide is mainly used in papermaking, cellulose pulp production and soap, synthetic detergent, synthetic fatty acid production and animal and vegetable oil refining. Textile printing and dyeing industry is used as cotton desizing agent, scouring agent and mercerizing agent. The chemical industry is used to produce borax, sodium cyanide, formic acid, oxalic acid, phenol, etc. The petroleum industry is used for refining petroleum products and in oil field drilling muds. It is also used in the production of aluminum oxide, metal zinc and metal copper surface treatment and glass, enamel, tanning, medicine, dyes and pesticides. The mainstream specifications are 32% and 50%. At present, the output of liquid alkali accounts for more than 80% of the total, and 99% caustic soda accounts for about 14%. The soda ash circulating on the market is divided into light alkali and heavy alkali, both of which are in a solid state and are distinguished according to density. The bulk density of light alkali is 500-600kg/m3 and the bulk density of heavy alkali is 900-1000kg/m3. Heavy alkali accounts for about 50-60%, according to the price difference between the two has 10% adjustment space.
Pure sodium hydroxide is a white solid, readily soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is astringent and slippery. When sodium hydroxide is exposed to air, it tends to absorb water and gradually dissolves when the surface is wet. This phenomenon is called delixing. Its relative density is 2.130. There are two kinds of solid and liquid caustic soda on the market: pure solid caustic soda is white, block, flake, rod, granular, crisp; Pure liquid caustic soda is a colorless transparent liquid. Easy to dissolve in water, when dissolving heat, water solution is alkaline, there is a sense of slippiness; Soluble in ethanol and glycerin; Insoluble in acetone and ether.
