Introduction to PVC

Polyvinyl c hloride, abbreviated as PVC in English, is a polymer formed by the polymerization of v inyl chloride monomer (VCM) in initiators such as peroxides, azo compounds, or under the action of light and heat according to the mechanism of free radical polymerization. V inyl chloride homopolymers and v inyl chloride copolymers are collectively referred to as v inyl chloride resins.

Appearance performance

PVC is a white powder with an amorphous structure, with a small degree of branching and poor stability to light and heat. When exposed to sunlight for a long time above 100 °C, it will decompose to generate hydrogen chloride, and further autocatalytic decomposition will cause discoloration. The physical and mechanical properties also drop rapidly, and stabilizers must be added to improve thermal and light stability in practical applications.
