Description
Passiflora extract powder has two main efficacy effects:
1, anti-anxiety and treatment of insomnia, passionflower has neuroleptic effects, including mild sedative and anti-anxiety effects. In tests conducted in the 1930s, its mode of action was found to be different from that of most sedatives (sleeping pills), making it a non-additive class of herbs that promote relaxation. Passiflora's sedative effects have made it popular in the treatment of a variety of conditions, including allergies and insomnia. Studies point to passionflower's complex effects on the central nervous system (CNS), which may account for its overall neuroleptic effects.
2, Antispasmodic, passionflower also has antispasmodic effects on smooth muscles in the body, including the digestive system. In animal experiments, researchers have found that the plant slows the passage of food through the digestive tract, thereby facilitating digestion.
1. Relieve anxiety
A study of patients before surgery found that oral passiflora reduced anxiety before surgery. Researchers have found that taking passionflower orally before outpatient surgery can reduce patients' anxiety without the use of sedatives.

Another study found that the use of passion flower in patients diagnosed with generalized anxiety (GAD) was effective in relieving symptoms. The researchers compared the effects of passion flower with oxazepa, a drug commonly used to repair GAD. They concluded that both passiflora and oxazepa were effective in alleviating GAD, with no significant difference in effects between the two regimens. However, the oxazepa group significantly had more problems related to impaired job performance.

The traditional medical use of passion flower to relieve anxiety has a long history, but modern scientific research is supporting this use.

Step 2 Sleep
Studies have found that drinking passionflower tea can help improve sleep quality in healthy adults. In the study, participants drank purple passion flower for seven consecutive nights. After drinking passion tea for a week, participants reported improved sleep quality.

Another study using rats to test passion flower's effect on sleep showed a significant increase in total sleep time. The researchers concluded that passionflower extract was a suitable sleep inducer.

Passionflower induces sleep due to its ability to increase the amount of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. GABA may also help optimize sleep quality, as it reduces brain activity.

3. ADHD
A psychiatric research center conducted a small study of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Researchers gave the children passionflower tablets for eight weeks. The results suggest passion flower may be a new therapeutic agent that can help alleviate ADHD. Tolerable side effects are another benefit of passiflora, according to the study.

Given passion flower's calming powers, it's not hard to see why it could benefit children or adults with ADHD. Passiflora's calming effects can naturally control hyperactivity and relieve ADHD related symptoms.

4. Have a healthy gut
The variety with relaxing and calming effects is Passiflora incarnata, while the other two varieties show gastrointestinal soothing properties.

To date, the benefits to gut health have only been demonstrated in rats because no human studies have been published. Still, the results show passion flower's promise for digestive health.

The researchers used Passiflora serratodigitata extract to repair rat ulcers and obtained positive results. Similarly, Passiflora serratodigitata has been found to help relieve sores in laboratory mice.

5. Goat horn attack
In a clinical trial, a chemical was used to induce seizures in mice, and the anticonvulsant effect was observed when passionflower was administered to these mice. More research is needed to support these findings, but these findings are promising indicators that passion flower may be a potential option for patients with goat horn.
