Products Description

Fructose is a monosaccharide, an isomer of glucose, with the molecular formula C6H12O6. It exists in a large amount in fruit juice and honey in a free state, and fructose can also combine with glucose to form sucrose. Pure fructose is a colorless crystal with a melting point of 103-105°C. It is not easy to crystallize and is usually a viscous liquid, easily soluble in water, ethanol and ether.

D-fructose is the sweetest monosaccharide. Fructose is 1.8 times sweeter than sucrose and is one of the sweetest of all natural sugars, therefore, under the same sweetness standard, the intake of fructose is generally only half of that of sucrose.
Fructose products are gradually replacing sucrose completely or partially in many areas of food processing. The purpose of this replacement is not only to solve the problem of sweetness, but also to improve product performance, enhance flavor and taste, and enhance product grade.

Usage

  • Cosmetics industry: Fructose is present in cosmetics as well. It is being used for its water-binding capacity. Application of cosmetics with fructose helps one's skin to stay hydrated and healthy. Fructose protects skin from water loss. It also helps release skin stress and reduce its redness. Fructose is used in huge range of sugar scrubs. One of its main qualities valued in cosmetics industry is the fact that fructose does not melt in contact with warm skin.
  • Pharmaceutical industry: Fructose is also used during the production of pharmaceuticals. Fructose is a substrate highly valued by the medicaments' producers.
  • Baked goods: Fructose is widely used to extend the shelf life of baked goods and to prevent confectionery from drying out and crystallizing. Baked goods with added fructose are characterized by an attractive color.
  • Ice creams: Fructose is also used in production of ice creams. It provides a smooth consistency of an ice cream.
