Le NdFeb a les meilleures performances parmi les aimants permanents à base de terres rares. C'est l'aimant permanent à base de terres rares ayant la propriété magnétique la plus forte actuellement. Il a une valeur BH max extrêmement élevée et une bonne Hcj, ainsi qu'une grande usinabilité. C'est le matériau d'aimant permanent le plus largement utilisé dans le domaine industriel et connu sous le nom de "Roi de l'aimant".
