Description:
Bicalutamide was launched in the United Kingdom, its first worldwide market, for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer in combination with an LHRH analog or surgical castration. A non-steroidal, peripherally selective antiandrogen, bicalutamide inhibits the action of dihydrotestosterone at target sites by competitive binding to the cytosolic androgen receptor.
