What is Colistin sulfate?
Colistin sulfate is produced by Bacillus polymyxa and has the following characteristics:
(1) It has strong anti gram negative bacilli ability. Especially for Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
(2) It can kill bacteria. By hindering the selective permeability function of cell membrane, bacteria die (3) there is almost no problem of drug resistance. No resistance to factor R was found.
(4) Synergistic effect with chemical book, an anti gram positive drug. Combined with bacitracin zinc, Flavomycin, sulfonamides, semi synthetic penicillin and gentamicin, the effect is better.
(5) No residue. When administered orally, it is hardly absorbed by the intestine, but when injected intramuscularly, the blood is well absorbed, so there is no need to worry about residues in livestock products.
(6) Promote the growth of livestock and poultry and prevent infectious enteritis of livestock and poultry.
